Text Diff Checker
Compare two blocks of text and instantly see every line that was added, removed, or changed.
Paste your original text into the first box and the revised version into the second box, then click Compare. The tool lines up both versions and highlights exactly what changed, lines only in the first box appear in red, lines only in the second box appear in green, and unchanged lines appear as plain text in between.
This is useful for reviewing edits to an article or document, comparing two versions of a config file or piece of code, or spotting exactly what someone changed in a shared document without reading through the entire thing line by line.
Does this compare word by word or line by line?+
This tool compares line by line. If a single word changes within a long line, the entire line is shown as removed and re-added.
Is there a size limit on the text?+
There is no hard limit, but very large documents may take a moment longer to compare since the comparison runs in your browser.
Is my text sent anywhere?+
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Does line order matter?+
Yes, the tool detects insertions, deletions, and reordering by comparing the sequence of lines between both versions.
