PNG, JPG, or WebP — a square logo works best

How It Works

A favicon is the small icon that appears in a browser tab, in bookmarks, and on a phone's home screen when a site is saved there. Different platforms expect different pixel sizes — a browser tab icon is tiny, while an Android home screen icon needs to be much larger and sharper. This tool takes one source image and resizes it into the full set of sizes most websites need, using your browser's own canvas engine, so your image is never uploaded anywhere.

Upload a square (or close to square) image — a logo or app icon works best, since the tool crops to a centered square before resizing. Click "Generate Favicons" and a preview of each size will appear below, ready to download individually. Add the downloaded files to your website's root folder and reference them in your HTML's head section using standard favicon link tags.

Frequently Asked Questions
What image should I upload?+

A square logo or icon works best. If your image isn't square, the tool crops it to a centered square before resizing, so keep your main subject centered.

Which sizes do I actually need?+

For most modern sites, 32×32 covers browser tabs, 180×180 covers Apple devices, and 192×192 plus 512×512 cover Android and PWA icons. Including all of them is the safest choice.

Is my image uploaded to a server?+

No. All resizing happens locally in your browser using the canvas API — your image never leaves your device.

Why isn't there a favicon.ico file?+

Modern browsers accept PNG favicons directly, so a separate .ico file usually isn't necessary. You can reference the 32×32 PNG as your main favicon in most cases.
