Image Resizer

Resizing an image changes its pixel dimensions — the actual width and height it's stored at — rather than just how large it appears on a page. This tool does that by drawing your image onto an HTML canvas at the exact dimensions you specify, then exporting the canvas as a new image file. This is the same underlying technique used by professional image editing software, just running directly and privately in your browser instead of on a server, which means there's no upload wait and no copy of your file ever leaves your device.

After uploading an image, you'll see its original dimensions displayed. Enter a new width or height in the fields provided. With "Lock aspect ratio" enabled, changing one value automatically recalculates the other to preserve the image's original proportions, which prevents the stretched or squashed look that happens when width and height are set independently without matching ratios. If you do want a different aspect ratio — for example, cropping a photo into a square for a profile picture — you can turn the lock off and enter any combination of values you like.

You can also choose the output format: JPG for photographs (smaller files, no transparency support), PNG for images that need a transparent background or sharp edges like logos and screenshots, or WebP for a modern format that often produces smaller files than either at similar quality. Once you click "Resize Image," the tool generates the new version and gives you a direct download link showing the resulting file size.

This tool is useful whenever you need an image at a specific size — preparing a profile picture with exact dimensions, resizing product photos for an online store, fitting an image into a website's design requirements, or reducing an oversized photo before sharing it. Keep in mind that enlarging an image beyond its original resolution can make it look soft or blurry, since resizing up doesn't add new detail that wasn't captured in the original photo.
