Random Number Generator

Generate one or more random numbers within a range, using your browser's secure random number generator.

How It Works

Set a minimum and maximum value to define the range numbers can fall within, and choose how many numbers to generate at once. This tool uses the Web Crypto API's secure random number generator, the same class of randomness used for cryptographic keys, rather than a simpler and more predictable random function.

Enable Unique Numbers if you don't want any repeats in the result, useful for things like drawing raffle numbers or picking several different winners. Enable Sort Result to arrange the generated numbers from smallest to largest instead of the order they were generated in.

This is useful for picking a random winner from a numbered list, generating sample data for testing, deciding between a few numbered options, or any situation calling for a fair, unbiased random pick.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the minimum be larger than the maximum?+

If you enter them reversed, the tool automatically treats the smaller value as the minimum and the larger as the maximum.

What happens if I ask for more unique numbers than the range allows?+

The tool shows an error, since it is impossible to generate more unique numbers than there are possible values in the chosen range.

Is this truly random?+

It uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, which is considered suitable even for security-sensitive uses.

Is anything sent to a server?+

No. Every number is generated locally in your browser.
