Duplicate Line Remover
Paste a list of lines and remove every duplicate, keeping only the first occurrence of each.
Paste any list into the box below, one item per line, such as email addresses, URLs, or names. Click Remove Duplicates and the tool scans every line, keeps the first time each unique line appears, and drops every repeat that follows.
Turn on Ignore Case if lines that differ only by capitalization, such as "Email" and "email", should be treated as the same duplicate. Turn on Trim Whitespace to ignore extra spaces at the start or end of a line when checking for duplicates. Turn on Sort Result to alphabetize the cleaned list once duplicates are removed.
This is useful for cleaning up an email list before a mail merge, deduplicating a list of URLs collected from multiple sources, or tidying up any plain text list that has accumulated repeated entries over time.
Which occurrence of a duplicate is kept?+
The first time a line appears is kept, every later repeat of that same line is removed.
Does empty lines count as duplicates?+
Yes, if you have several blank lines, only the first blank line is kept unless you disable that behavior by removing extra blank lines before pasting.
Is my text sent to a server?+
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I sort the result alphabetically?+
Yes, enable the Sort Result option before or after removing duplicates to alphabetize the cleaned list.
